Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science
Ranked #1 in San Diego, the Hahn School of Nursing was recognized among the nation’s best in the newly released U.S. News & World Report 2025 Best Graduate Schools rankings. As a standardized patient, I collaborated with the University of San Diego School of Nursing to simulate real-life medical scenarios that help nursing students strengthen their clinical and interpersonal skills.
By portraying a wide range of patient cases, from routine checkups to more complex emotional or physical conditions, I provide students with hands-on, practical experience in a supportive and realistic environment. This role has enhanced my adaptability, communication skills, and ability to deliver thoughtful, constructive feedback for educational growth.

Easily Adaptable: Each simulation required me to quickly learn and embody different patient scenarios, symptoms, and emotional states. I became highly adaptable, able to adjust my performance based on case complexity, instructor feedback, and the specific learning objectives for each student group.
Delivering Constructive Feedback: A key part of the role involved offering direct, professional, and empathetic feedback to nursing students after their evaluations. I learned how to communicate observations clearly and helpfully, supporting their growth while fostering a safe learning environment.
Verbal and Nonverbal Communication: Portraying realistic medical and emotional scenarios taught me to be highly aware of my verbal and nonverbal cues. This enhanced my ability to convey complex feelings or symptoms convincingly and consistently, which was crucial for the students' learning experiences.
